Pineapple pompom classroom art idea step-by-step instructions

Make a pineapple pom-pom: a fun and easy family craft activity!

This adorableĀ pineapple pom-pom is super easy to make. Make a fun fruity headband, or attach a ribbon to use as a bag charm or key ring!

To make your pom-pom, you will need:

Wool, scissors, a glue gun or strong liquid glue, sparkly foam board or metallic card, ribbon.

Time to make: 30 minutes, tops!


How to make a pineapple pom-pom:

Step One
Wrap the wool around your hands, approximately 80 times to make a nice, fluffy pom-pom.

Step Two
Carefully slide the coil of wool off your hand.

Step Three
Tie a length of wool yarn around the centre of the coil of wool, securing with a double knot.

Step Four
Now take your scissors and cut through the two loops of wool as shown.

Easy to make red and yellow tropical pineapple. Great classroom craft activty

Step Five
Now to give your pom-pom a haircut! Trim carefully until you have an even ball.

Step Six
Draw the top of your pineapple onto a sheet of paperĀ and cut it out.

Step Seven
Next, trace the shape onto the reverse of your foam or metallic card.

Step Eight
Stick the pineapple tops together as shown.

Step Nine
Finally, attach the top to the pineapple using a hot glue gun or liquid glue. Push the pineapple top into the center of the pom-pom and hold in place until dry.
