How to make Ojo de Dios, craft activity project
How to make Ojo de Dios: easy craft tutorial
When we first came to South America we spotted colourful and beautiful Ojo de Dios (or God's Eyes) hanging in trees and hallways in many of the homes that we visited.
We were inspired to make our own, and after a bit of trial and error, we were pretty pleased with the results.
So we've put together a tutorial showing you how to make a simple Ojo de Dios, made with two sticks and a couple of colours of yarn.
You will need:
Sticks - dowling, kebab sticks or twigs from the garden, wool yarn in at least two colours, scissors, ribbon and feathers (optional).
1. Select two sticks and choose two or more balls of colourful wool yarn.
2. Take a ball of yarn and use the end to tie the two sticks together in the middle.
3. Now open up the sticks to make a cross and wrap the yarn in the opposite direction until it feels secure.
4. Start looping the yarn around each stick in turn, as shown.
