Here comes Carnival!
Carnival is a festive season before lent, usually celebrated in February or March. During Carnival, people wear colorful masks and costumes and participate in a parade, which contains elements of a circus and a street party.
Probably the most famous carnival in the world is the Carnaval de Rio, celebrated this year on Friday 21st February until Tuesday, February 25th. With up to 2 million people in its streets per day, the Rio parades feature breath-taking floats, happy revellers and wonderful costumes made by various samba schools. A samba school is a collaboration of neighbours who want participate in the carnival.
